Celebrate Good Times

As we travel through our lives attempting to dream, do, live, and be our best selves, oftentimes we live so much in the future we forget the past. We have goals, dreams, and things that we are looking forward to in a New Year as the small victories of the year behind get left in the dust. Life moves so fast we can get caught up in the going and forget how far we have come.

“Today we are living yesterday’s dreams.”

Right now, right here, you are living the life you imagined as a younger you.

You are doing activities you had only dreamt of years ago. You are in a place, with people, experiencing moments that you had longed for all those years ago. Today is the success story! Your life, here today, is the dream lived out in the physical world. Soak that in for a moment.

Today is the dream.

Our human need to make tomorrow Better than today can delude us in thinking that we are never enough. We must always strive, be, do, and look towards that tomorrow.

The Billion Dollar Question gets answered and we must strive for it, take those steps, bust those blocks! We must move forward, always! And we do. Each and every day we move forward. But there comes a time in life when we stop moving forward. We age. We reach that limit of what our physical human bodies can take on this earth and we begin to decline. We stop moving forward. We stop being able to go, go, go. This inevitable stage of life we fondly refer to as “old age.”

Often times in this age we get more content, wise, and happier with life. Why?

Because we begin to look back.

We begin to look back and see all that we have done in our lives. We begin to look back and see the friendships woven through our existence of time. We begin to feel grateful for the opportunities we did have and the life we did live.

At this stage of life we cannot go back and do it all over again. We cannot achieve more or start over. Acceptance is the only way into present moment happiness. And with that acceptance comes celebration. There is a reason they call it a “Celebration of Life.”

A life well lived is just a life. We all have a life, right here, right now. We are all living that life. We are all carving out those moments in time that one day we will look back on and appreciate, tell our children and our great-grandchildren about the time when….

When what? When we were living our lives today.

We don’t have to be at our end of life stage of possibilities to use this amazing tool that life gives us. We can use it today! Each and every year that goes by we are making memories.

We are touching hearts and changing lives. We are living the life we dreamt up yesterday, which tomorrow will be our good ol’ days. By celebrating each step along the way, we can add the richness of life today by appreciating where we have been and celebrating where we are today.

Each and every day we are creating the stories of our lives. Some might fly by so fast we can barely remember them. Some will go down in family lore as “The day when..”

We choose. We choose what times to celebrate, what days to remember, and how to remember them. We choose how to look at our lives as not enough or so full we can barely handle the richness. We choose.

We tell the Story of our Lives.
And we get to choose whether to Celebrate the Good Times, or complain about the struggles.

We choose. Today we get to decide what it is we would like our dream of yesterday to be.
And as we pass those stories down to the generations who will come after us, they will remember us by the stories we tell.

Today you are living yesterday’s dream. What life will you be living tomorrow?

Your Optional Short Cut:
Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and tune into your heart space, and ask yourself:

- What amazing accomplishment did you make last year?
- Did you celebrate it?
- If you could look back on your life and tell a story about it. What story would you tell?

What ideas come to you?

The Possibility Path was created as a life coaching program to gain insight into the journey of being a human being.

In the process, The Author, JP, found tools and insights that have helped so many find their own solutions, answers, hope, and possibilities!

The basic 28 step tools from the original program have inspired Possibility Pauses, Star Lite poems, and more, all written for her premium Star Shine Club clients.

Now they are available in the Open to Possibilities blog!

Enjoy! Here's to the possibilities to come!
